The Shack, a book review

You may have already found and read The Shack by Wm. Paul Young. If not, I can't help but recommend it to you. Why, you may ask, isn't it just fiction? In the NT, Jesus used parables - fiction - to paint pictures of deeper truths. This book uses the simple fictional story to portray much deeper spiritual truth. It is especially for those who may have been torn and wounded by this life, perhaps to the point of questioning God's love. And, the book is just as much for those who wonder if there isn't more to God than just "religion."

Warning! It is not an easy, fun read. Parts of it may leave you feeling emotionally devastated for a time, but it is worth the journey. Why? Because life on Planet Earth is not an easy journey, but it is not like God to leave His children in despair. This book reveals a God who loves us, One who longs for relationship with His children, and One who wants to heal our deepest hurts.

I read it, too, and enjoyed the freedom of the Holy Spirit character the most!
