Time Out!

Welcome to Friday Fiction! This week it is being hosted by Patty herself, so be sure to visit her at Patterings for more great fiction.

Okay, time out! Have you ever started something that seemed simple enough when you planned it, but once you got into it almost before you could blink you began to realize a few things – like your own level of ignorance on the subject? I have to confess that I have never done research for any piece of fiction I have attempted to write. Until now. Therefore, I am placing myself in Time Out! At least until I get some research done on at least one of my fictional endeavors.

Starting ‘Dusty Dreams’ was easy. Just a fun bit of fiction… until questions begin to arise in my mind. Like, “Okay, where are they exactly, now that the wagon is abandoned by the wagon train?” and “Just how far does a wagon train travel in two months?" And on and on. Like I said, ignorance. So, I went to the library, and just how soon I will get the next little bit done on ‘Dusty Dreams’ for Friday Fiction, who knows, but hopefully it won’t be long.

So, for this week, my contribution for Friday Fiction is a rerun, with a link to the story on Faithwriters Magazine way back in July of '05.

What a delightful story, Sherri! Glad you pointed me that way - hadn't read it before.
