God Had a Plan
Thoughts on Being First
Seek Knowledge

OOOOPPPPS! That’s almost all I can say. This is a very good example, I think, of
Proverbs 19:2 Also it is not good for a person to be without knowledge,
And he who hurries his footsteps errs.
If I can paraphrase to fit my folly – She who does not take time to read some instructions about changing her blog will find her blog to be ruined. Sigh. Well, okay, it’s maybe not ruined forever, but it will surely take a bit of time to fix!

You see, I like the idea of tabs, and it did occur to me that I could feature my Etsy shop items on a separate tab… so I added a page to my blog and pasted the script for the Etsy mini there – but that page had not only the Etsy mini but all of my sidebar items from my home page on it, and the shop items literally ran across the sidebar items… not a pretty sight nor site, so I began editing all the sidebar items, thinking that I was removing each one from the new page. In fact, as you can see if you are reading this before I have fixed it, doing that removed all my sidebar items from my home page as well! So, obviously I have done something wrong. Now I will have to go back and do what I should have done in the FIRST place – read and get some knowledge!

This makes me think of something I shared in a teaching once, and that is that I used to believe what I had often heard – that God only holds us accountable for what we know. The problem with that, you see, is that is like buying a new item such as a VCR (okay, the teaching was a few years ago) and throwing away the instruction manual that came with it. You can imagine the difficulties one might encounter trying to figure out how to make it work without the manual. As Christians, we have the word of God, the instruction manual for life as a Christian, and we are wise if we read it, and headed for trouble if we don’t.

Well, I’m going to take some time to read through the help sections, and see if I can’t figure out how to have a sidebar on my home page but not on my other pages – and if you have any knowledge or suggestions, please feel free to leave a comment!

Job 42:1-2 Then Job answered the LORD and said, "I know that You can do all things, And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.

Well, after some reading, I think I found my answer in Blogger help forums:
Unfortunately Blogger's new static pages uses the same template as the blog so if you want to use different template, you will need to create a sub-domain or a separate blog. I will soon publish a post on creating sub-domains.

So, it seems my sidebar will be on all pages unless I create a subdomain. I may check into that.

Sorry, I can't help. I always have to ask my husband for help on how to do anything on the computer. I'm following you from the CAST team on Etsy. Here's my blog if you want to follow me: http://www.brendashandmade.blogspot.com.
